Dendias Assures Mangoush of Greece’s Support for Holding Free and Fair Elections on Schedule in Libya – Al Marsad

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the interim Government of National Unity (GNU), Najla al-Mangoush, spoke today on the phone with the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.

(LIBYA, 9 August 2021) – According to the media office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Libya’s Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush expressed her regret for the losses caused by the fires that broke out in the forests of Greece. She said Libya stood in solidarity with the state of Greece.

The Greek Foreign Minister thanked al-Mangoush for her support, and also reiterated his country’s full support for the efforts made by the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity, to achieve security and stability in all parts of Libya and end the Libyan crisis through responsible dialogue. They also spoke about the current developments in Libya and the need to create the appropriate conditions for holding free and fair elections on time.

The Presidential and Parliamentary elections are  which are scheduled for 24 December 2021.
