The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed al-Mismari, said that the special task unit of Tariq bin Ziyad Al-Moazaz Brigade in charge of hunting down terrorist elements in the southwest of Libya, managed to arrest the terrorist Al-Ajili Ali al-Ajili al-Hasnawi of the terrorist group ISIS.

According to the LNA media office, Major General Ahmed al-Mismari explained that the arrest came after monitoring Al-Ajili’s movements and collecting important information about his terrorist activity. Al-Mismari said the ISIS terrorist was in possession of various types of weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

The terrorist al-Ajili is said to be linked to the terrorist Abu Talha al-Libi (Abdul Moneim al-Hasnawi), who is considered one of the most prominent leaders of the terrorist organization in the region, and who was killed in a operation by the LNA in January 2019. He is also considered to be affiliated with the terrorist Ahmed al-Hasnawi, who was responsible for carrying out the Brak Al-Shati massacre in May 2017, along with several other parties affiliated with and supported by the Sarraj government at the time.

Al-Ajili was assigned by Ahmed al-Hasnawi to secure the transportation of supplies, weapons and ammunition between the terrorist organization and their elements in the southwest of the country.

Al-Ajili was working to transfer terrorists to the tank project in the area of Garda al-Shati, which is a training camp under the command of Abu Ammar al-Jazairy and Mukhtar bin Mukhtar in 2016–2017. He was also preparing to transfer ammunition and weapons and transport terrorists to the state of Mali, Jabal al-Abyad, Algeria and Tunisia.
