LIAS and Enterprise Greece Sign MOU in the Fields of Investment and Renewable Energy – Al Marsad

The Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Enterprise Greece, the official investment agency of the Greek state, which works under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote investment in Greece and abroad.

In its official statement the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) said this agreement, signed at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli, was part of efforts to open new horizons of cooperation with international organizations and institutions. It also also said it hoped to help international investors enter the Libyan market, to facilitate and enable Libyan investments in European and global markets, and efforts to encourage investment opportunities inside and outside Libya and benefit from global expertise.

Present at the signing ceremony was the Chairman of the LIA, Ali Mahmoud Hassan, the Greek Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, the Secretary General for International Economic Affairs, Ioannis Smyrlis, the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Professor Ioannis Chrysoulakis, and a number of diplomatic and business figures from Libya and Greece.

The statement said the MOU with Enterprise Greece would create investment opportunities for the two parties particularly in renewable energy, exchange of industry expertise, and empowering and training Libyan nationals.
