Omelez El-Farsi Urges HNEC to Extend the Deadline for the Collection of Voter Cards – Al Marsad

Member of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), Dr. Omelez El-Farsi, called on HNEC’s Emad al-Sayeh to extend the deadline for the collection of voter cards and not be an obstacle to people’s right to choose who they want to represent their nation.

LPDF-member Dr Omelez el-Farsi sent a message to Emad Al-Sayeh and the High National Election Commission (HNEC), saying: We are a large segment of the Libyan people who are temporarily outside our cities or due to travel conditions we were surprised by setting a deadline for receiving the voter cards and refusing any attempt to receive them through agencies or relatives.”

Dr. El-Farsi expressed hope that the HNEC would approve power of an attorney or extend he period to collect the voter cards until mid-December, taking into account circumstances and that the Commission would not be an obstacle to their right to choose who represents them on behalf of the nation.
