Erdogan to Al-Menfi: It is Necessary for Executive Authority to Continue its Duties Until Elections – Al Marsad

The Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, met on Friday in Istanbul with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the third summit of the Turkish-African Partnership.

According to the press office of the Presidential Council, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the political process in Libya, and several items, foremost of which was the holding of Presidential and Parliamentary elections to resolve the Libyan crisis.

Erdogan stressed the need to respect the outcomes of the political dialogue and the continuation of the executive authority in its duties until simultaneous and fair Presidential and Parliamentary elections are held in accordance with a constitutional rule agreed upon by all Libyans.

Al-Menfi arrived in Turkey on a two-day official visit, to participate in the third summit of the Turkish-African Partnership,  Istanbul from 17-19 December.
