Bashagha Government: We Hold the GNU Fully Responsible for Any Military Escalation

In a statement, the government mandated by the House of Representatives (HoR) and led by Fathi Bashagha, confirmed its follow-up to the statement issued by military leaders from the city of Misrata, in which they call for the rejection of all military escalation, adhering to peaceful methods, and following the political approach in managing state affairs and the peaceful transfer of power.

The Libyan government led by Fathi Bashagha welcomed this statement, and said that it was was consistent with the principles and policy that it adopted and its unequivocal commitment to start its work from the capital, Tripoli, in accordance with the law and via peaceful methods.

The Bashagha government said it held the Government of National Unity (GNU) fully responsible for any military escalation that affects security and stability of the country and threatens the safety of civilians.
